I cannot recommend Simon at Marvellous Disco enough!! The process from start to finish was faultless. Through using the online portal we were able to note down specific songs which we would like to be played and those we did not want to be played. This enabled us to make our wedding playlist personal to us and the guests. Throughout the wedding night he kept the perfect party vibe going for guests to enjoy. Simon was so professional, arrived on time, friendly to us as bride and groom and the guests and it was entirely stress free. As a bride it was amazing to see and not worry about a thing! TLDR version: Marvelous Disco made our wedding reception an absolute blast. We had an amazing time, our guests likewise, to the point where we struggled to sit down the entire night and half of our evening food didn’t get touched. He delivered everything we asked for, intuited what we didn’t and was incredibly reliable and quick to correspond with along the way. Couldn’t recommended him more highly.
If you are actually planning a wedding and would appreciate a bit more detail about our experience please keep reading. Especially if you are like us and had heard a few horror stories about DJs going rogue over the years:
Ultimately Simon gives you exactly as much creative control as you want to have. What we wanted was to have a big say on the playlist and someone else to curate it, order it and mix it on the night responding to the crowd as they saw fit. This is exactly what he did. His website allowed us to request more than enough music in advance you could categorise it into must play and please play. You could share it with your guests and even put some songs on a banned playlist in advance.
When it came to the set itself, Simon very much let the music do the talking, we gave him a very eclectic mix from the Beegees to Northern soul to Sean Paul to Tenacious D
and back again and he deployed it all perfectly in a great order at just the right time- reading the room perfectly. I think there was only one song he played that we didn’t specifically request and it was a banger that we couldn’t believe we hadn’t thought of ourselves. Importantly, he is also a really talented DJ. The mixing was genuinely creative with some really cool transitions that guests appreciated and made comment on in the moment. Finally, the unexpected bonus is that Simon records the set, so you can listen to it after which we have been doing on repeat and the fact that we’ve been able to relive some of the moments via his videos on instagram was also a really appreciated extra. He’s also just a really sound guy (pun intended) who was really easy to correspond with. Go book him!
We hired Simon for our wedding in May at Ellingham Hall, as he was one of their recommended suppliers, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice.
We really loved how easy it was to add our chosen songs through the online playlist system before the wedding — it made the whole process so simple and personal.

Booked Simon for my wedding through wedissimo, very easy process and Simon booked us in for a video chat to talk details within days. Once we had decided to book Marvellous Disco for our wedding, Simon sent us over his playlist system and we were able to select every song we wanted or did not want throughout the night. Simon then used his magic to create a playlist from our selected songs, keeping the dancefloor full all night.
Simon was fantastic from start to finish. He kept us informed of everything that was necessary. His arrival at the venue was on time and there were no issues during his set up.

We booked Simon after he was DJ for our friends wedding in 2024 so we knew he was great from start but honestly the night was amazing! Simon was quick to respond to any queries we had, was friendly and professional and the online system for making playlists was so easy to use. We had made quite a mixed list of songs but simon made it flow so perfectly knowing exactly what was going to keep the dance floor full all night. The amount of songs available is fantastic and made making the playlist that much easier as there’s something for everyone! We hired Simon to DJ at our wedding at Doxford Barns on the 20th Feb and all I can say is thank you! My now husband, who was in charge of arranging music, got very carried away and asked Simon to play around 8 hours of music when really we only had 6! Even so, Simon played all of our favourite songs, and everyone at the wedding commented on how good the mix was! My daughter was also very happy with her dedicated song and with being able to use the microphone! Simon was brilliant. He came and set up so quickly and efficiently providing no further stress on the bride/groom. He played exactly the songs we asked for and kept the party going all night. We couldn’t have asked for any better.
Booked Simon for our wedding, couldn’t recommend his service enough. It was easy to select our song choices on his website and easy to communicate with him on WhatsApp. He also organised our silent disco which was fantastic and ran seamlessly on the night, the equipment was top notch.
We booked Simon for our wedding at Newton Hall in September 2025. Fantastic service throughout, no question was ever an issue, contact was easy and seamless. Requests for music was easy and all music was played as requested (even kept to his word when asked not to play particular genres). Sound quality was perfect for the venue. The night itself went perfectly and Simon was involved throughout encouraging guests to get up. Simon even got a snippet of a photo rush we organised and sent on the footage for us to keep. 10 out of 10!!! Would absolutely use again.
We hired Simon for our wedding and couldn’t recommend him enough! His communication was great from our initial emails until the big day. Having an individual portal on the website to upload our song requests and compile a do not play list meant that on the night every song was a hit. We received several quotes for wedding DJs when planning ours and Marvellous Disco was very reasonably priced. We received a very detailed email outlining available services on the day, and were happy to pay our small deposit. This also granted us access to the website where we had our own client portal. As our wedding approached I started browsing the portal and found it incredibly easy to use, and it allowed us to not only list songs we would like to be played, but also those we would not. We were also able to allocate certain songs to certain dances, and provide dedications if we wished. I had a few pre-wedding queries and received detailed responses within 24hrs each time. On the night, Simon introduced himself before starting so that we could put a face to the name, and he did a great job all evening of keeping everyone entertained. The dance floor was full most of the night, and we and our guests all had a fantastic time. We were so pleased that we chose Marvellous Disco to DJ our wedding!
Our wedding was 31/05/2025 and I must Marvellous Disco was absolutely amazing. I like quite old fashioned music and my husband likes clubland and we got a really good mixture of both. I’m not the most organised of people and he went above and beyond to ensure the reception ran smoothy. Would definitely recommend and great value for money.

I booked Marvellous Disco for my wedding on 24th April 2025. I booked a standard disco to begin with followed by a silent disco.
I could not recommend this DJ and his equipment enough. The music was spot on from start to finish. If you want your dance floor to be full all night, then book this DJ! Also, the booking was great value for money.

Would thoroughly recommend Simon as a wedding DJ. My wife and I chose him as our DJ wedding and he was brilliant. Allowed us to create a very thorough playlist (and choose any songs we didn’t want to played) – we chose enough for 8 hours of songs! He was great on the DJ, really nice guy and very professional- got setup himself quickly and without drawing attention. Was good with the guests and allowed requests and read the room well – genuinely don’t think the dance floor was empty at any point during the evening. Thoroughly recommend!

Such a fabulous company- Simon was brilliant! A DJ and silent disco all in one, with three channels of music genres to choose from and guests were able to put in requests before the party too. The dance floor was full all night and because the headsets have a range, people could dance anywhere in the venue, even while sitting down at the bar! MD were fantastic at our wedding on 19.8.23, we had given them a very hard task of squeezing in about four and half hours of music into three and he did a great job of mixing and trying to get as many songs played as possible. Really professional sound and light set up. Arrived in plenty of time and ensured all our special songs or must-play requests were done. Marvellous. We loved having Simon do our wedding he played the songs we requested and filled in the gabs, he had our first dance song and my father daughter dance song all set for us. We chose Simon to DJ our wedding and we couldn’t have asked for better. Fantastic service right from enquiries through to on the day itself. The online system to fill in song requests before hand made everything so easy to do and we always got a quick response via email too.
On the wedding night, the dance floor was literally never empty- everyone had a great time and loved the mixing. The set up looked really good and professional too! We would highly recommend Simon.

Excellent disco. Spoke with Simon re our disco – one hour feel good party tunes, one hour quieter music for the buffet and santas visit, followed by a final hour of christmas hits. People on the floor from the first song to the last. Would rebook.

Easy to use client interface which meant we got exactly the music we wanted Simon to play which was no mean feat for him, as about 1/3 of it was Zimbabwean and South African. Very competitive rates. Simon is a top bloke to boot!

We had Simon at our wedding in Sept 22 after seeing he was a recommended supplier for our venue. We are so pleased we chose him. He was very helpful and responsive to queries in the run up to the wedding and his website made it really easy to put in requests and let him know the kind of thing we wanted.
On the day itself he read the room really well and by the end of the night we had family members dancing that we would never have predicted! Lots of fun was had by all and Simon was very professional and dealt with all our silly requests with ease. Also worth mentioning he was great value and we would recommend him to anyone!

Simon was the DJ at our wedding at Horton Grange in August 2022. The communication prior to the wedding was fantastic. We liked the website where you can choose your own songs and send a link to guests to choose songs. You could tell Simon is a professional as he was great at mixing songs and responding to cues from the guests.
Excellent combination of music even when we selected all our music ourselves he was able to seamlessly merge each song into the other. Our first dance at our wedding was made even better as we told the DJ we didnt want to dance to the entire song and he chose the perfect moment to invite other guests onto the dancefloor with us. highly recommend for any event

And we had lots and lots of people saying that it was one of the best discos they had ever been too. Would highly recommend Simon. Simon was absolutely brilliant at our wedding and we would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ. From the moment we first spoke to him he was totally polite and professional and did everything he could to ensure that we had the disco we wanted on our night – he even played every one of the requests on our playlist – no matter how dodgy some of the song choices were!! There wasn’t a moment where there weren’t people up on the dancefloor and that says it all!
I had the pleasure of marvellous discos at my wedding on Saturday. Great set up and even let me have my own play list. When booked I asked him to stay until 1 but turned out the bar was only open until 11.30, he turned up early to set up his gear and said he would quite happily start earlier for me. Had all the guests up dancing. Totally made the night. Would highly recommend.

He was very responsive to emails and excellent value for money. I’d recommend in a heartbeat and will definitely consider again for future events we may have!

Massive thank you to Simon for providing the music for our anniversary party last night. We were allowed to request songs online, that our guests and ourselves wanted, before the date of the party. Everything about organising the disco was easy to do and Simon was happy to adjust the timings to fit our needs. I added a few requests via the website but I missed the cut-off date. Simon was happy to do some minor adjustments after the cut-off. He had all the music we needed.
The disco itself was great. WE had lots of people saying he was the best ever and wanted to pay extra to extend the night.

Simon DJ’d at our wedding last weekend and was simply incredible. People have commented they’ve never seen a dance floor like it, full of people enjoying themselves all night, we didn’t want it to end. The whole process has been fantastic, from easy booking, an online portal with all your timings and requests with different options for songs. Being able to do this gives Simon the base of what you like and he simply worked his magic and played them in the right order for the crowd, mixing between tracks and throwing in the extras to pull it all together seamlessly. Also happy to take requests on the night, has some fantastic lighting and is a a genuinely nice guy too. A true professional who is clearly very talented at what he does. Simon simply made our wedding reception one to remember and we cannot recommend him highly enough.

Simon provided the the disco for our wedding at The Treehouse Alnwick on Saturday. The whole booking process was really easy and the ability to request songs both by us and the guests was brilliant though we ended up with about 7 hours worth to fit into 2 haha! From what i could see, the guests were really enjoying the music and having a great time. Simon was very pleasant to deal with and prompt to set up – in fact he came looking for us haha! Great 21st Disco – highly recommended – Simon was very easy to deal with and made the night a great one by playing all the songs on the playlist and some to suit us oldies!! He played until 3.30am which was outstanding!!
We booked our silent disco over a year ago and we weren’t sure what to expect. It was absolutely fantastic! All of my guests had the best time. It brought everybody together and made us laugh until we couldn’t laugh any more. We are now working out a way to get a silent disco into more occasions in the future. I would recommend this to people from any age bracket.
Simon was the DJ for my daughter Sarah’s wedding on 3rd August. The process of making the booking and submitting requests to be played could not have been easier and the entire event went very smoothly. Everyone has commented on the choice of music and how much they enjoyed themselves. I was particularly pleased that Simon was able to source my request for the Father Daughter dance as it was not on his list of available music. The right music was played at the right time in the evening from cheesy pop early doors to the requested heavy metal section towards the end. Allowing David and his friends use of the microphones for their unique and never to be forgotten rendition of Sweet Caroline was much appreciated. All in all we had a fantastic evening.
Simon is a great lad and provided a fantastic DJ service for our evening wedding celebration in Morpeth in July 2019. He was on time to set up, played all the tunes that we had pre-ordered and relayed a few bride and groom requests to our guests over the microphone which we had asked for. Marvellous disco was a fantastic choice for our wedding in early April at Alnwick Treehouse. It was great fun putting together the playlist for the evening in the days leading up to the event.
On the day when the wedding breakfast was finished he was already set up and good to go, and all he needed from me was a thumbs up when we were ready for the first dance to begin. From there he was great throughout the dancing, reading the energy from the crowd and playing the perfect songs to keep the dance floor crowded. Because of the continuous mix between songs there were also no awkward silences between tracks, which kept the people on the floor the whole night.
Great time, would definitely recommend to anyone.
